Words like reliability, communication, creative and technologically advanced are also words you will hear our client's say when they talk about A.D.S Australia.
We see ourselves as more than just a production house. The way we see it your success is our success. When your print arrives on time, and it is exactly what you expected, you win and so do we. We are in a unique industry whereby we don't have contracts with our clients. Whether we receiving on-going work from our client or not is determined by how well we processed their last order. That's why we make sure we do the best job we can on every order we process.
A Discount Signs (formed in the early 90's) was purchased in 2001 by Managing Director Dean Wright. A Discount Signs was solely focused on screen and apparel printing, real estate and a small portion was general signage. The first point of contact for real estate agents was A Discount Signs as the most popular items they required were stickers, pointers and a frame inserts.
Bulk runs were produced due to style guides rarely changing and prints being limited to 2-3 colours allowing the sales team to give agents the best prices. A.D.S also provided a print and mount service for general signage and small runs. This was generally for prints that had four colour process and that had a quantity of 20 to 30 signs.
In 2007, A Discount Signs took a step forward and changed the business name to A.D.S Australia. At this point in time the digital department produced work with two Roland's and only required the amount of stock for that particular job. Dean quickly noticed a change within the industry. Client's were after quicker turnaround times and larger runs that included multiple artworks.
In 2011, Dean made the decision to compete within the industry and purchased the VUTEK QS2000 Flatbed Printer. The Flatbed created new business for A.D.S. Production quickly moved from mounting to printing directly to rigid substrates, printing larger runs, quicker turnaround times, producing multiple artwork kinds, printing on a variety of stocks and offering unique printing effects using white ink. No longer was there a demand for exposing multiple screens as print files were pre-pressed within minutes and jobs produced within a few hours. Such fast turnaround times meant that the sales team needed to find new clients to keep the Vutek running. A.D.S approached potential print management companies and soon landed their foot in the door to print for some of Australia's major retail brands.
The industry continued to evolve, retailer's were requesting their prints to be custom finished, whether it was contour cut, a standee or a hanging mobile. In 2014, Dean decided to keep the production in house and purchased a Kongsberg XN 44 Table Cutter. The table cutter enables improved workflow, faster samples and prototypes, shortened production times, ensuring clients deadlines are meet.
In 2015, to the join the ever growing production house is the Vutek GS3250 LX LED Flatbed. The expectation of the print quality and what client's are paying for has become greater and the demand for point of sale items to be in stores within days mean's a machine that cut's the print time in half. A.D.S is now placed among some of Melbourne's top print companies offering a wide variety of print method's still including its original roots of screen and apparel printing.
